The Ujjayanta Palace ( Ujjoyonto Prashad) is a former royal palace situated in Agartala, the capital of the Indian state of Tripura, and also served the meeting place of the Tripura  Legislative Assembly until 2011. Ujjayanta Palace is a tourist attraction of Agartala, and tours are conducted by the Tripura Tourism Department. The name Ujjayanta Palacewas given by Rabindranath Tagore.

TRIPURA SUNDARI TEMPLE

Tripura Sundari Temple is situated in the ancient Udaipur, about 55 km from Agartala, believed to be one of the holiest Hindu shrines in this part of the country. Popularly known as Matabari, crowns in a small hillock and is served by the red-robed priests who traditionally, minister to the mother goddess Tripura Sundari . Considered to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, consists of a square type sanctum of the typical Bengali hut. It is believed that Sati's right foot fell here during Lord Shiva's Nataraj Dance. The temple consist a square type sanctum with a conical dome. It was constructed by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya Debbarma  in 1501, there are two identical images of the same deity inside the temple. They are known as Tripura Sundari (5 feet high) and Chhotima (2 feet high) in Tripura. The idol of Maa Kali is worshiped at the temple of Tripura Sundari in the form of 'Soroshi'. One is made of kasti stone which is reddish black in colour. It is believed that the idol was Chhotima was carried by king in battlefield. This temple is also known as Kurma Pitha because it the temple premises resembles kurma i.e. tortoise. Every year on Diwali, a famous Mela takes place near the temple which is visited by more than two lakhs pilgrims

NIRMAHAL

Neermahal ( WATER PALACE) is a former royal palace built by King Bir Bikram KIshore Manikya of the erstwhile Kingdom of Tripura in the middle of the lake Rudrasagar in 1930. It is situated 53 kilometers away from the Agartala, the capital of Tripura. The palace is situated in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake and assimilates Hindu and Muslim architectural styles.
The palace is the 2nd largest of its kind in India after the Jalmahal in Rajasthan and the only one in Eastern India. There are only two water palace in India.
Known as ‘lake palace’ of Tripura, Neer-Mahal was constructed as a summer residence. It was Maharaja Birbikram Bahadur’s idea to build a palace in the beautiful Rudrasagar lake and in 1921 he accredited the British company Martin and Burns to construct the palace for him. The company took nine years to complete the work. Maharaja Birbikram Bahadur belonged to the ‘Manikya Dynasty’ which is supposed to be the second longest dynasty from a single line in the world today.
The palace is the establishment of Maharaja’s great taste and his fascinating idea of blending Hindu and Muslim traditions and cultures.
The palace is divided into two parts. The western side of the palace is known as Andar Mahal. It was made for the royal family. The eastern side is an open-air theatre where drama, theatre, dance and other cultural events were organized for the enjoyment of Maharajas and their royal families. The palace has 24 rooms in total.
Neer-Mahal has two stairways inside leading down to a landing on the water of Rudrasagar Lake. Maharajas used to go by motor boat to the palace from ‘Rajghat’.

JAMPUI HILL

Jampui Hills is located on the eastern parts of Tripura state on the border stretch of Mizoram in North East India. The name Jampui hills normally refers to the hill range that stretch from North to South and the average altitude of the area is approximately 1000 metres from sea level.

          The summit of the Jampui Hills commands a breathtaking natural view of the towns nearby. Orange plantations of Jampui Hills are very famous throughout India. Every year during December-January the Orange Festival is held.





Unakoti

This is a pilgrimage spot .It is a  famous with its handmaiden statues of different Goddess and the natural beauty is incredible ......  
The images found at Unakoti are of two types: namely rock-carved figures and stone images. Among the rock cut carvings, the central Shiva head and gigantic Ganesh figures deserve special mention. The central Shiva head known as Unakotiswara Kal Bhairava is about 30 feet high including an embroidered head-dress which itself is 10 feet high. On each side of the head-dress of the central Shiva, there are two full size female figures - one of Durga standing on a lion and another female figure on the other side. In addition three enormous images of Nandi Bull are found half buried in the ground. There are various other stone as well as rock cut images at Unakoti.




SEPAHIJALA WILDLIFE SENCTUARY:

Sepahijala is covering an area of 18.532 km. More than 150 species of residential birds, migratory birds, orchid garden, boating facilities, wild life, botanical garden, zoo, elephant joy-rides, rubber and coffee plantation are there to attract you.The famous spectacle monkey(Chasma Bador) is found here,which itself a joy to watch.and also clouded leopards are there.The zoo is located in a vast area inside the sanctuary which itself a bigger one.
Go here only to watch the above two animals which are rarely found in any other zoos.Be prepared to walk more to cover the whole zoo area.
